By the time we were done, we were all covered in sand. So, we ventured over to quiet peaceful north beach, and decided to go for a swim. It has been very long since we've gone for a night swim. Our only light was the crescent moon and stars above. After standing knee deep in the water for a few mintues, we gathered enough courage to venture into the unknown. Five guys brave enough to swim in the dark waters. Perhaps if the water wasn't so warm from the day sun, I would be on the side watching from a distance. But, I know this is the one of the few times I can enjoy the ocean. We played in the water like we always did. Chicken fights, wrestling, and launching each other. Then after we grew tired, we waded in the water and talked of our surroudings. Joey went under water, and came up with an excited sound in his voice. Soon after all five of us were underwater experiencing our own personal symphany of sealife. We could hear the dolphins, as they sang out into the depths of the ocean. It was unmistakeable. They were dolphins, and the sound came from all around us. I held my breath and stayed under as long as possible to continue listening to their song. It was beautiful.
I stood up and looked at the moon, and everything was beautiful. The sound of the water, my friends as they laughed in amusement, and the sound of the dolphins.
Later in the night, we went to their home, soggy and sandy, but truely satisfied.
