1. I am 90 percent of the way to meeting my deadlines for the week. Not wfmad, mind you. I had to blow that off this week because of having four, count 'em four, articles to write. Two for the local 2xmonth newspaper, two for one of my favorite markets. Sometimes you just have to put your head down and work. WFMAD should return to my life tomorrow, perhaps for some overtime.
2. Massage. One hour this morning, working out the stiffness in my shoulders that came as a result of #1.
3. A sunny day, the whole day, meant I could get two loads of laundry hung out to dry and didn't have to rush out to bring it in because a thunderstorm threatened.
4. Lots of good books to read--some for next year's Green Mountain Book Award list, others, like Jumping Off Swings, written by people I know and admire, like
jbknowles.
5. 16 days until BD (
booksareadrug ) leaves for Ireland! We have lots to do, but basically it's all good, and I'm getting excited for her. As much as I'm happy, though, I'm glad there's this much time so that we don't need to rush.
6. I am most thankful of all that there will be no Great Sorting this weekend. We're taking a break until September. An update on last week's discoveries deserves its own post.
