1. Clearing out someone else's house results in changes in your own house. Last weekend we brought some items of furniture back to our small house. Two were desks. As a result, my grandmother's mail-ordered from Sears circa 1960 desk needed to go back into my office, where it was for a number of years, until we needed a home-office/bill-paying desk downstairs.
You all know what it is like when you start working on your office.... Let's just say that 5 hours later I have my space back. The layout is the same, but something like three grocery bags of paper are now ready for the recycling.
2. I'm looking forward to tomorrow:
kmessner and
Daniel Lusk are speaking to the League of Vermont Writers at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum near Vergennes. Kate is going to talk about research for both historical and contemporary fiction and Daniel is going to talk about his latest project, which is poetry inspired by the underwater world of Lake Champlain.
Think sun, everyone! This summer we need every glimmer we can get.
3. In one month and 5 days, BD flies off to Ireland, to spend a year at the University of Galway. As the pre-trip emails keep arriving, it seems more and more real. The year is sure to be an adventure, one I'm happy she'll have. And, as I've said before, she'll be closer than she was her junior year of high school, when she spent a semester up in the Himilayas, in India.
4. No Great Sorting for me this weekend, because of the League meeting. Since I still haven't really recovered from last weekend, it's just as well. HH is on the road as I write. He and his brother and sister will do what they can tomorrow. At this point, we're down to about two more weekends of work. It'll be a shock when it is done.
5. In spite of rearranging the office, I did get my 15 minutes in (and a bit more), with 101 words to show. That makes three days in a row on the pbj project.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
