Madeleine L'Engle

 Madeleine L'Engle's passing makes me remember when I met her. She was doing a tour for the U.S. Agency of Information (or some such, basically a good will cultural tour) of Europe. I was in Vienna and she gave a reading at the U.S. Consulate. (This was back in '84/85).  I had read her books, but was a bit old for them when they first appeared, so
