Yes! The scene revision worked. I'd say it took longer than I expected to get it where I wanted, except that I've learned that it always takes longer than I expect.... I ended the day about where I wanted. Of course, along the way I realized a chapter needed to break in a different place, which meant that another chapter was extremely short. That would have been fine, of course, but then, I realized another scene would be appropriate for that chapter, so I drafted that.

Bottom line--I'm still not done yet. Did I really think I would be? No, although I was hoping. But as I was eating supper this evening, I realized there is yet another scene I absolutely have to write to tie off something that has been hanging and shouldn't be left that way. That will be much easier to write than what I had to do today, which sent me down to the basement doing some research on certain sounds. The things I have done for this novel!

I've got the next two days scheduled for a magazine feature, but if I finish it earlier, I'm back to my wip. Maybe it's the turn to spring--although these days the Green Mountain State looks more like the White Mountain State--but I'm feeling excited about this. Plus, I heard today that I'll be getting a manuscript critique at the SCBWI New England conference in May.

Happy writing, everyone.
