So he'll be staying - maybe.

Cookie is starting to get settled in here. He is not so weepy and most of the time he just a bowl full of chuckles. He still proclaims about his shoes upon waking, followed by inquiring whether there will be bananas (Nana?) or apples (Ap?) for breakfast, cracks up hysterically and who knows what, and then gets more excited than ever about going bye-bye - all of this every morning. It is a delight. It turns out he is about %50 potty trained, which gives us hope, and nap time this weekend went very well. The 72 hour hearing was held today (yes, that would be a week and a half after he was placed...) and he will, apparently be in care at least until February. This could be good (I mean, obviously there were some problems if he got removed - not to mention the bottle teeth), or this could be bad (as he clearly has a very strong attachment to his mother). But there is a bit of a snaffu. Just a small piece of information that we didn't have when we took the placement. His mom works at the store that is down the road from us. The one that we frequent several times a week. The one that we are members to and where all of our information - such as home address and phone, etc - is stored. The one where we almost took Cookie for breakfast on Saturday morning. This could have been very bad. This still could be very bad. We have not decided whether we can do this or not. It really would have been nice to know this info before he got placed. I've not had any personal contact with the mom. All I know is that she was arrested for crack use, that her kid loves her, that she works at my favorite store in town, that she didn't know enough to take the bottle away at bedtime or brush her child's teeth - ever, and that she is buying him a new pair of tennis shoes that will be given to him on Friday, which is when I may meet her - if I haven't already met her at my favorite store.

So, yeah, just curious, would you do?
