I was lucky enough to get two fanmixes this year, and I adore them both. It's always amazing to me when someone can take something I wrote and find a song I've never heard before that fits it perfectly, and both my mixes are full of examples of that. Thanks so much to both my mixers! ♥

I love how this mix has classical music pieces that fit the setting (which they really do, and not just because they're classical--listen to the Chopin nocturne with your eyes closed and see if you don't start picturing a once-grand manor house gone to seed) mixed in with contemporary stuff where the lyrics fit perfectly. To pick out just a few, "In a Graveyard" is such a perfect love song for Frank and Gerard in this story, and "Come in Closer" and "Strangest Land" both gave me chills the first time I listened to them.

summerslaughter This one also has some great Frank/Gerard love songs on it--"You Are the Daybreak" pretty much sums up the way Gerard feels about Frank better than anything I actually wrote--but what I love most about it is how well songs like "Death", "Thru These Walls", and "Crazy Baby" get inside Attic-Recluse-Gerard's head. Also, while I was doing a final check for typos, I got to the part where Frank takes Gerard outside and "The Night Starts Here" spontaneously started up in my head, which I think is a sign of a mix well done.
