I just noticed today two things had been missing from my life that I seem to thrive on. I had been feeling poorly this morning and found myself all curled up in my nightgown on the couch in a lovely pool of sunshine pouring in through the window. Then at the doctor's office for a routine checkup, I found myself again basking in the sun inside the very large windows of the waiting room. Sun... beautiful sun! It warms even the soul!
This evening, I started reading Anne Tyler's newest book "Noah's Compass". I went to Target with a gift card from Nick, today, and just browsed. Not much in the store seemed to interest me, except the bookshelves. Two other books interested me, "Home Safe" by Elizabeth Berg, another favorite author, and "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova. So, I got those, too. I suddenly felt my day was pretty much complete, and I wasn't feeling in a funk anymore!
Interesting, how we get out of balance and not even realize it.... until we again experience something, or some things we had been thriving on. Then we feel much better.
