twice now we've vowed vehemence

Oct 20, 2005 15:08

a delicate lull finds
one
on
psychedelicized beaches where
boys bring
girls bring
universes in
purses and verses
written in cursive

swerving round curses and glass-cut heels
the sand feels the texture of silence
of tongues tied in reef knots
of not the sea but the ceiling

we once had fins for this air we swim
we once had fins for this air we swim

we pull back our ears revealing
gills
we pull back our teeth revealing
oil spilled peacock eyes
fixed upon an enochial eclipse

mouthless now
wordless vow
mouthless vow
wordless now

mouthless mouthless
vow now now vow
wordless wordless
now vow vow now

the sacred cube of metatron
washes ashore

we don't sleep anymore on the beach
we don't bleach the shore anymore in our sleep
we don't count sheep anymore from beneath our sheets
we don't burst forth anymore from our measures and scales

we scale buildings and fall from bridges
we build models of rigid ridges
we wake up
we walk
we

are

sung

songs

hummed

by

seas

of

whales
