*this series is like a prologue to:
freefalling kisses (oneshot) 5.
It was his fifth glass of the night, and he still wasn't anywhere near being drunk. Staring thoughtlessly at the glass in his hands, the bubbles of the dull-yellow liquid slowly rising to the surface, LuHan suppresses a sigh building in his chest.
He's been sighing way too often lately, enough to draw attention from the ever-so observant Tao.
Lifting his gaze from the cup, he turns to look out at the dance floor from his seat at the bar. Women and men alike were grinding and pushing their bodies up against each other, as the mystifying lights of the club cast a dizzying affect across the floor. He never understood why people liked to be so close, allowing others to invade their personal space. Bringing his glass to his lips, he drowns the contents before contemplating whether or not to ask for another cup.
"A water please," LuHan suddenly hears from a few seats beside him.
Water? His lips almost twitch into a grin. Who asks for water at this club? At Club Exodus?
Needing to see the face of such an amusing person, LuHan turns his head towards the owner of the voice.
The guy was tall, probably a lot taller than himself, and was clad in a simple shirt and jeans; both black, and both fitting too well on the perfectly proportionate body. LuHan notes the slim yet defined arms, the strong back, and long legs.
My, aren't you blessed, LuHan muses, his doe-like eyes shamelessly roaming over the boy's body. His hair was slicked back, away from his, LuHan admits, handsome face.
He seems a bit young though, he thinks, staring at the side profile of the boy. He had a million guesses on how he got into the club, but ignored them all. It wasn't much of his business, and he honestly could care less. Many people want to enter this club; and some went through drastic measures.
He doesn't look like a drug-addict though. LuHan continued to stare not-so-secretively as the guy drowned his cup of water. Although LuHan didn't want to admit it, he couldn't help but to silently admire the exposed neck and skin of the young boy.
Something's wrong with me, LuHan murmurs inwardly. He blames it on the alcohol.
Just as he was about to deem the boy an attractive eye-candy and order for another cup of his favored bittersweet substance; their eyes meet. And LuHan's body tenses as he forgets who he is, where he is, and what he was doing.
Déjà vu, he whispers, staring into the black, lightless eyes of the boy, whose face was a lot more handsome than seeing it from the side. LuHan felt like he was back at the moment on the terrace of his room, staring down at the busy lights of the city and wishing for something to whisk him away from the life he currently lead. Except this time, he was lost in the onyx gems that reflected the lights of the club like a mirror.
It could've been his own imagination, but LuHan saw the boy also startle in surprise as they continued to hold each other's gaze. Neither moved, or uttered a single word. They were lost in each other's eyes, one of black crystal and other of melted chocolate, as a recreation of the Garden of Eden was replayed in their minds and hearts.
Was it coincidence, that out of all the mingling bodies in the club, that LuHan had shared eye contact with this boy? That these feelings that were washing over him, were just due to the alcohol in his system?
He sure hoped so. Because LuHan sure as hell didn't believe in fate.

SeHun knew he would never enjoy clubs. And he had confirmed his own suspicions tonight.
Baekhyun and Chanyeol will never let me live this down, he thinks, sitting on the cover of the toilet seat with his head placed between his legs.
He had came into the club with JoonMyun, as JongIn previously entered ten minutes before them. At first, SeHun felt fine, save for the slightly uncomfortable sweat that formed on him like second skin. But after another twenty minutes of being pushed, touched, and rubbed in so many wrong ways, he had fled into the confined safety of the bathroom stalls.
He, for one, was not a touchy-feely type of guy. And being a person that avoided large crowds, this club is his worst nightmare.
If they find out this is my first time to a club...
SeHun muffles his groan into his palms.
Taking a calm breath, he slides his fingers through his hair and checks the gun strapped securely to his back before stepping out. After quickly fixing his already perfect hair, with dislike written in plain sight on his face, he exits the bathroom.
Let's quickly get the data we need and get out of here, he thinks, checking his watch. They move at 0200 hours; he had a good half-an-hour to waste.
Lost in his thoughts, he mindlessly walks past a scrawny, but very tall, male that was leaning against the wall. Caught off guard, a hand grabs SeHun by the wrist and pulls him back, back into the shadows of the hallway.
"Hey brother, got some time on your hands?" A disgustingly hoarse voice, roughened by years of smoking and other drugs, rasps at SeHun.
Not knowing whether to punch the guy out of his way, or cringe from being touched by such sallow, dry hands, SeHun frowns in annoyance. "Please move." His patience was very thin in the current situation he was in. He was even considering whether or not to use his gun.
"Oh, come on don't be like that," the tall man says, advancing towards SeHun. The man winked at him, a gesture that was supposed to be charming but looked rather pained and gross.
Is he hitting on me? SeHun shrieks inwardly, eyes twitching in sickening bewilderment. Just before the man tries to grab at SeHun's arm again, SeHun looks past the man's shoulder and widens his eyes, parting his lips to let out a gasp.
With that, the man suddenly stills and turns to look behind his shoulders. Seeing nothing there, he turns his hollow eyes back, to only see SeHun disappearing around a corner down the hallway.
How gullible, SeHun thinks, rolling his eyes. Hearing footsteps following after him, he swears in his head and quickly eyes the door to his right. Grinning as the unlocked door opens, he quickly shuts it behind him with care, and listens as the footsteps move past where he hid.
Disgusting, SeHun murmurs with a shake of his head. Just as he was about to exit the room, which looked like a simple storage space, wallpapered with the same patterns of black and red as the hallways, the hairs on the back of his neck rise. He looks around the room again, more carefully.
Something was suspicious about the room, and something told him he'll find out why if he looked.
There's a draft in here, he thinks, feeling a slight breeze through his hair. Touching the walls of the small space, he frowns when he feels something on the wall directly across from the door.
Looking carefully, SeHun then notices a line that revealed a compartment hidden in the wall; something he would've missed due to the intricate wallpaper. As he traces the line, his frown slowly disappears as he realizes that it was a hidden doorway.
It doesn't slide, so then that means... SeHun carefully adds pressure to the compartment, tripping in surprise at how easily the door flipped around. He catches himself before he almost fell unceremoniously on his face.
"...Who are you?"
SeHun tenses, his hand immediately reaching around to his back. The room behind the hidden doorway fell into place with the club's interior, all shades of red and black outlining the furniture and walls. But it surprisingly gave one a feeling of comfort.
Spotting the owner of the voice, SeHun loses all train of thought. The defined aquiline features of the young man sitting on the red velvet couch in the middle of the room, left a strong impression that he was no person to be taken lightly. SeHun traced the willful eyes to the strong nose, down the clear-cut cheekbones and the slim chin, before deeming how striking the man was. Not only did he emit an aura of authority and command, he had a perfectly chiseled face, and body too, as SeHun quickly glances at the strong torso and slim legs.
The bass of the club resonated faintly beyond the walls, and the silence between them prolonged until the man on the couch moved to set his glass of wine down.
"Seeing as how you're just standing there tells me you're not here to kill me," the man says, his soft voice clear and lined with caution. "How did you find this room?"
Before SeHun knew it, a gun was suddenly in the man's hand and pointed at him. He blinks, amazed at how fast the man moved.
Oh man, I'm losing my touch, SeHun grumbles inwardly, relaxing his stance to stand up straight. "I was looking for a place to hide," he says, making his voice ghost across. He wasn't entirely lying.
Seemed to be caught surprised, a frown line mars the handsome face as the gun drops slightly. "Hide? From what?"
"A pervert," SeHun says, completely straight faced and serious.
Gun disappearing from its mark on SeHun, the man bursts into laughter, rather gracelessly, but SeHun still marveled at the smiling face and the sound that bounced off the walls.
"A pervert, huh," the man says, gasping for breath. He hadn't laughed, especially out loud, in a long time. The endorphins that ran through his veins felt foreign, yet good. "How do you know you didn't walk into the chambers of another, as you say, pervert?" A teasing grin lifted the corners of his lips.
The man eyed the boy that stood before him. Starting from the long, skinny legs clad in tight fitted jeans, up the slim waist and chest adorned by a gray shirt and black jacket. He then blinks; once, twice, a third time, and notes how surprisingly attractive the boy's face was. In contrast to his boyish features, he held a certain vague depth to his eyes. It drew the man in without him realizing it.
Frowning, SeHun opens his mouth to retort that he was being completely serious, when a piercing scream, loud enough to cut through the loud bass and thick walls, interrupts him.
Both startled, they whip their heads in the direction of the club's dance floor. Soon more screams fill the air, as shouts of alarm can also be heard.
SeHun peeks at his watch, and a sinking feeling grips his stomach.
It was too early for his team to move.
Then what was that scream?

(The rest of them shake their heads) No, we all sleep peacefully and happily!
