The lights dim, and his eyes flutter behind closed lids.
He could hear the low whispers of the shadows, the silent anticipation that built and built; eventually spilling over the rim in a waterfall of awe, passion and breathless sighs.
Now, it was his turn.
A swish of his arms, the fluid flick of his wrists, the languid roll of his lean body; it was all to fabricate the momentum of the imagined climax, where euphoric murmurs sang a sweet lullaby to his heart: his makeshift soul.
But he had to remind himself, constantly, that this was all just that; a fabrication, a falsehood. It wasn’t his truth, because he was nothing but a solitary silhouette.
He was a blended in figure of remnant memories of those who do not wish to remember.
And without proper reason, it drove him to the cliffs of madness.
Useless, meaningless, and without hope; he wandered into the void. And too soon, it stilled his movements, taking away the flow of his motion and freedom of control.
He was a puppet on strings, losing every piece of identity and character with each and every song that played.
He not only lost his soul, his heart, and his body.
He lost his mind.
