I'm very much on track with my NaNo piece. I look forward, daily, to the time I set aside to write, and I'm now convinced that I'll finish the novel this year. I'll give myself December to edit and expand what I write during November, and then the next step will be to find an agent. That's a scary reality, but I'm cautiously excited. Does anyone have any suggestions on where, or how, I can begin to look for an agent? Or any general advice on this topic?
Also, quite amusingly, I received a survey from the women's studies department at my college asking for advice for current women's studies students. I think I should feel ashamed that I reccommended that the students find a graduate program with a dual degree, or to veer away from women's studies altogether, or if they insist to persue women's studies, that when they enter the job market, they need to be flexible. I feel like a women's studies scrooge. But then, someone has to be honest about what the students will find in the "real world job market" right? Besides, I doubt that my advice will make it further than my survey sheet. I'm not good PR.
Well, off to the coffee shop to write another 2,000 words, or so.
