i just bought a bottle of patron to celebrate tomorrows. my mom thinks i'm an alcoholic. my dad also thinks so, but he doesn't try to forbid me from drinking. actually, he invites me to join him. then my mom gets mad at my dad for condoning such behavior.
do you remember when you were a kid and you'd have to ask your parents for permission before you could do something? you'd go to the parent you think is more lenient and think you could avoid asking the other one since you could potentially get a yes from one of them. but then the lenient parent says "ask your mom (or dad)" so that he/she doesn't get in trouble for saying yes if the other wants to say no. so then you ask the tough parent and he/she says no and you start the "but mo-om..." or the "but da-ad..."
oh shoot, have you ever tried saying "mom/ dad said i could" before you even asked the other parent? that one always worked.
i gotta remember these things for when my kid tries to dupe me.
