Today my co-worker Marie-France showed me a YouTube video clip in which Paul Reubens had inserted himself into an episode of Turkish Star Trek. It was pretty funny, especially with Turkish Star Trek being heretofore unknown to me. So when I came home from work today, I Googled Turkish Star Trek and discovered there was also a Turkish Star Wars and Turkish Wizard of Oz. I can't tell you anything about the Turkish Wizard of Oz, but I investigated the Turkish Star Wars and found the entire thing on Google Video
here.
A few things about Turkish Star Wars: it's only called that because the film features bootlegged clips and music from Star Wars (also the theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark, and what I think is the theme to the original Battlestar Galactica). It seems to mostly be about a Wizard who wants to harness human brains as an ultimate weapon against the humans, and there's something about the 13th tribe, Islam and Jesus Christ. The high points of the movie are definitely the first 5 or 10 minutes.
The first 1:55 are the credits, and let me tell you, turn up your speakers for this, because the music is swingin'. Seriously. I'd love a copy of this to put on a mix.
After the credits, there's lots of exposition. This is my favorite part, because it's a bunch of Star Wars clips edited together, and they keep showing the same clips over and over. And the English subtitles MAKE. NO. SENSE.
