A/N: So, this is a preview of my new DC fanfic. I dedicate this one to Chasity, Cassidy, and Claire. Because they are great friends. The characters are named after them. Except Chasity's charcter's name is 'Charity" Anyway, here we go.

Prologue
I turned my back to him, tears streaming shamelessly down my face. I was hurt, but I didn’t want him to know it.
“Cass?” he whispered, his usually normal, perfect speaking voice was broken and frail.
I didn’t answer. He was the last person that I wanted to talk to at the time. He really thought that he was the victim here, but he was wrong.
“Cassidy,” he said, louder this time. His voice seemed to echo inside of my head.
“What?” I asked not even attempting to hide the anger in my voice.
“Talk to me. Please,” he said.
I laughed. It was meek and barely audible. But it was there. “David, I don’t want to talk to you right now.”
“I don’t understand,” he said, confusion evident in that voice that I had grown to love so much over the years.
“You wouldn’t, would you?” I asked, not turning around to face him.
“Cassidy, I have no idea why you’re acting this way. Was it something that I said?”
“If you can’t figure it out, you don’t deserve to know,” I replied, my voice catching in my throat. For a minute I wasn’t sure if it would make it out.
“Cass, really, I have no idea why you’re acting this,” David said.
“Fine,” I muttered. “I’m leaving.”
And without turning, I stormed towards the door, and at the time I had no intention of looking back. There was an anger inside of me burning hotter than the sun. In other words, I was pissed.
But, he stopped me. His large, calloused, guitar player’s hand encased my wrist gently. My heart stopped for a moment. My breathing came slow as my heartbeat increased, and I gasped.
“Dave?”
“Don’t leave,” he said.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t,” I said, trying as hard as I could not to look him in his enchanting, hazel eyes.
“Because…”
I waited, my foot tapping impatiently. I was sick of his games. I wasn’t really concerned with anything he had to say anymore. I wasn’t sure if it had any meaning.
“Because, Cass,” he whispered. “I need you.”
And with those three words, I was sold.
