More than a month of catching up to do, how does this keep happening?
2/18-2/19 Took my bee on a romantic weekend to
The Topanga Canyon Inn where we stayed in the
Fred & Ginger room. I originally wanted to go here in large part because of all the great hiking around. Unfortunately, I couldn't do much with my broken toe and it rained really hard almost the whole time we were there. So we had to entertain ourselves :)
I wish I had gotten a picture that showed the features of the bed and dresser/vanity. They all have built in pink fluorescent lights for settin the mood.
I said bidet, sir!
We got there a little late the first night, then the next day we went to a nearby theater to see Unknown, which should've remained Unshown...zing! It was terrible. But then we got all dudded up for fancypants dinner at
The Inn of the Seventh Ray, a very popular spot for weddings and engagements in that area. We tried unsuccessfully to sit outside, but it was still very romantic inside after we moved.
Here is the crazy shrimp cocktail...you eat the shrimp and then squeeze the bulb to shoot the cocktail sauce into your mouth.
My bee and me by the fire...
She got short ribs and i got the filet. Amazing!
2/20-Here's the view on the morning we checked out, the only time it wasn't pouring rain.
We headed back to LA and had a casual dinner with Jesse, Marika and her mother and cousin, who were in town for the
ACE Eddie awards, a show which Marika produced and knocked out of the park. And Jesse cut a powerful tribute reel for one of the editors being honored that night. And Marika's cousin was the trophy model onstage! A fun but hectic weekend for them, so we just hung out and had some pizza.
2/21-Gained a lot of weight immediately after breaking my toe because I totally stopped exercising. So I started the Atkins diet. So far lost ten pounds!
2/23-My 30th B-day! I gotz presents!
2/25-My birfday party at the Bigfoot Lodge. SO MANY people came out in the pouring rain to celebrate, it was so amazing!
2/26-Chelsea and I attended
Eat Your Art Out IV, an art auction to benefit
Angel City Derby Girls where Chelsea is part of their fresh meat program.
I actually bought a piece there, I couldn't believe somebody did a picture of
George Warrior, so I am now officially a patron of the arts! Somewhere there exists a picture of me and Chelsea with the piece, but I don't know if those photogs ever did anything with those pictures.
4/1-Dinner at the Counter with some of Chelsea's friends.
4/11-19 Months with my bee!
4/13-Broken toe means this year I just walked a part of the Glendale Downtown Dash. But I took Cookie with me and she had a great time!
4/16-Gigolos gets a mention in
LA Times!
4/18-Last day editing for the company I was at, found out that on Monday I'll be starting work on
Police Women, so that's exciting! Another credit on the resume already.
