Short lived joy- eh?

Last night was such a rollercoaster!  Excitement abounded in my house over the election of Obama- only to be stopped short by the precarious position of Prop 8.  And of course, this morning it looks like 8 really is going to pass.  I am glad to see that it was close, and it actually didn't pass in the county I live in.  The thought of such rampant homophobia is revolting.  It's also startling to me, to see folks vote for our first black president and in the same moment vote to remove rights from another disenfranchised group of people.  It boggles me that this isn't obvious to everyone.

I can't help but think that folks were willing to vote for more freedom for livestock while stripping away freedoms from other citizens.

Ugh.
