I understand your disdain for the sport. I played tennis a fair amount as a kid, and so I relate to watching it on TV. I never got American football. And British football, or soccer as we like to call it here, is also kind of boring to watch without any closeups. Just a bunch of hooligans chasing a ball around a field (or is it the fans that are the hooligans?). Maybe it's different being there at a match. Though I liked playing - and therefore watching -baseball in my youth. Never really got into much else.

It's a pity they don't televise Ping Pong matches much. Except for in the olympics. As a former runner I like to watch the relay races and the mid-distance races especially. I used to run 8-10 kilometer cross-country races in high school. If I hadn't gotten runner's knee in grade 12, I may have run a 4-minute mile by now. Like that other famous Roger guy... whassisname? Bannister! Roger Bannister.

So I don't like watching hockey. I too would much rather take the beer and porn.
Although a good glass of red wine with some erotica sounds much more appealing.
