What do you do when the moon is full?
Last Monday's full moon was inspiration for our Theme Word prize. While there are over 50 words in the Scrabble dictionary that begin with MOON, this is what the twisted group came up with: GOON, PROWLS, GAWP, GAPE, HORNY and BLUE. Heather's PROWLS and Tom's HORNY tied for the most votes. Had you been there, What would you have voted for?
Damp, cold weather getting you down? Come out to Kilgour's tomorrow night to throw down some tiles and knock back a drink or two over a Scrabble board for some friendly rivalry at our weekly social Scrabble in the City night. No matter what level your skill or Scrabble prowess, you will have fun playing and end up learning new words every time.
Last Monday night I learned these words: ABEAM, APOCRINE, BELTER, CAUL, CRAKE, FINO, ODYLES, OESTRONE, VIREO.
Last Monday night I also learned that these are not acceptable words: CAWL, FINA, FINI, OUTGORGE, REARRIVE, SINGLEDOM, SNARF, TORTIERE, VIRIO.
Next week's Scrabble in the City falls on Hallowe'en, so I'll have some special trick-or-treat prizes for the best dressed and the best scary words.
Tomorrow night's theme is still TBA. Got any suggestions?
