Thank you everyone for all your support for my first ever solo photography show.
The last signed, framed print came down tonight. I was chuffed to have sold several pieces. Thanks for all your positive comments, encouragement and presence (even if only in spirit) during this momentous occasion. It was gratifying hearing the accolades pour on my work from the pub regulars and strangers.
Putting together my first show was certainly a learning experience. I didn't foresee all the extra time and costs involved in printing, framing, mounting, promoting and getting it all together - and on time. I didn't anticipate having to redo one of my works after it got accidentally knocked down and destroyed last Friday night. Nor did I anticipate selling more than one of the same print. Or the generosity of my friends who helped with their time, their pocketbook or their positivity.
Most of all, it was such a pleasure seeing strangers come into the pub and gravitate towards the photos and hear their comments. I look forward to doing this all again very soon.
