Originally uploaded by Word Freak. About 20 Scrabble players gathered on the patio at Kilgour's pub last Monday for some fun and games. It was the first time we filled the patio since last autumn at Scrabble in the City. Some of us moved indoors after it cooled off later in the evening. But the games continued well into the night.
Kilgour's recently celebrated it's 11 year anniversary. Scrabble in the City will soon celebrate its three-year anniversary. And it'll soon be one year since we moved our little club gathering to Kilgour's. Stay tuned for a special anniversary celebration (and special prizes) in the weeks to come.
Please join us tonight for a casual game or two over drinks and/or tasty eats. The fun and games take place at Kilgour's pub on Bloor Street (just east of Bathurst). We start at 7PM and go 'til close to midnight.
Come for a game or come for a drink. Stay as long as you want. Meet other cool people. Throw down a few tiles as you knock back a drink or two. Play a theme word and win a cool prize!
Not everyone who plays with us on Monday nights is so competitive, so don't worry about how good you are or how many words you know. I provide a "cheat sheet" of all the 2- and 3-letter words to get you going, and there's a mostly casual, laid-back vibe at Scrabble in the City.
