It wasn't all that bad. We had a good time generally, in spite of our performances. Part of the thrill of going away is the joy of returning home. I didn't realize how good we've got it here in Toronto with all our nonsmoking bars. I now have a sinus infection thanks to the smokey bar at the Holiday Inn.
Not to make excuses, but I think there's some truth in this: Perhaps my performance was impeded by my heath. It's hard to play well when you're not feeling your best.
I ought to be more careful with my choice of words during tournament games.
I notice this holds especially true when you have developed a touch of notoriety for playing phonies... which you kind of have. ;)
Better luck next time, I'm glad you didn't challenge the word FIELD, I was expecting that when I saw your title. I guess it's all in interpretation! ;)
