Tomorrow (Monday) night we'll be having a special Holiday Edition of
Scrabble in the City. Since Kilgour's is going to be closed on Boxing Day, this will be the last of these fun gatherings until we meet again on the first Monday of 2006.
Now here's a brief recap of last week's fun: Winter was the theme, and we got plenty of contributions to the Theme Word prize, which included GLOVES, JAUNT, HURLED (as in snowballs), HELLS (as in Hells Bells?) and ALBINO (dreaming of a white Christmas?). But the winning word was Tim's MENORAH. Although that last word would fit in nicely with tomorrow night's Holidays theme.
I'd like to personally thank all of you LJ users who have come out and supported
Scrabble in the City over the past year. This includes
cato,
clintonk,
generationjulie,
heathermccall,
lesliemae,
littlehoudini,
mightydoll,
peemonkey,
rocketbox,
s0ma,
sneakyofverb,
superjill,
traycer and
whorlpool and their non-LJ friends that they introduced to our fun little club.
And all of you who promised to come out one of these days but never did, here's your last chance to redeem yourselves. Come and join in on the fun and games at Kilgour's pub on Bloor Street (just east of Bathurst). We start at 7PM and go 'til close to midnight.
Come for a game or come for a drink. Stay as long as you want. Meet other cool people. Throw down a few tiles as you knock back a drink or two. Play a theme word and win a cool prize. There's people of all ages and abilities. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night. Get your word freak on!
