I'm requesting a small favor. Please read the message I've sent to many people via email this morning. I've chosen to post this on LJ in order to reach each of you quickly.

Dear Friend,
The Fort Collins Youth Activity Center (YAC) is slated to close next year due to a large budget shortfall. The Fort Collins City Council, faced with the difficult task of putting together a greatly reduced budget for 2007, believe they have no choice.
I believe the YAC provides a vital service to our youth, and gives them a safe, healthy place to spend their time, make friends, play sports, and learn new skills. The Northwest Aztlan Youth Center, which the city council believes would be equipped to handle the needs of all Fort Collins youth, is located too far away from kids who currently utilize the YAC. I believe it is in the best interests of our young people to keep both Youth Centers open.
An online survey has been made available for Fort Collins residents to express their opinion about the YAC and its impact and importance in the lives of our young people. Data from the online survey response will be presented to the City Countil.
Please take a minute to complete this survey. It'll literally take you no more than 1 or 2 minutes. The deadline for completing the survey is Friday (tomorrow) at midnight, so time is of the essence.
Let's do our part to communicate to the City Council that the YAC provides an important service to our youth and should be kept open.
