Is that it requires self-examination.
http://us.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/11/17/breast.cancer.self.exams/index.html I don't know what the answer is for health care. I do know that scoping things out of women's health preventative care guidelines doesn't help women's health.
I smell something rather foul and insurance-y about these new recommendations. That is, as insurance (no matter who runs it) moves toward a model of high-deductible plans that may cover more or most of the cost associated with preventative care and less of treatment, guess who benefits from scoping things *out* of women's health preventative care guidelines? Yup.
Health insurance is broken, health care delivery is more broken. These moves aren't fixing it, or even moving the needle.
