Wrong, wrong, wrong. Lee thinks as his teeth nibble against Kara’s neck. He’s married. After this, he has to go face Dee, his wife. The one he’s suppose to be frakking. But instead, he’s sitting in a raptor with his biggest regret kissing his face.
He voices his objections, but Kara drowns them with her tongue. She always had that effect on him, ever since that first night. He could never say no. She knows that and uses it against him every moment she gets.
He’s always wanted her. Right from the start. But there was always something between them. First it was Zak himself and then his ghost. Then Sam.
But they had been so close that night under the stars. So close that Lee could have tasted it. But, like every all good things tend to, it slipped away.
Lee knew that they weren’t going to have that happiness again. Their moment had passed and all they were doing now was clinging to a free falling dream. But it was all they had.
So Lee relented. He was going to hang on for as long as he could. Or at least until the guilt catches up to him.
