Auld Lang Something Something...
My Christmas vacation is winding down, but I have been pretty busy for the last couple of days. On Saturday, shiny_bauble held a big ol' Game Day, and I believe a good time was had by all (and I do mean all...lots of people there). I got to play a four-player game of Thurn and Taxis, which I got elora_c for Christmas, although my attention was divided, and I lost miserably. I also got to play a game of Marvel Heroes, which I still think is fun, but awfully long (of course, I won, so that may have colored my opinion). People had fun, and I got a couple of chuckles for my Gingerbread Meeples (and thanks to Elora for helping me make them all), so that was pretty good.
Yesterday, I went by my parents' house in the afternoon for a family get-together, and then in the evening I headed out to York to celebrate New Year's with a bunch of Mantids, including captain_squid, piratelemur, and fish_tie, and a bunch of folks who don't have LJ usernames, so I'll respect their privacy and not name them, but I'm very grateful to our hosts. Again, a good time was had by all (so far as I know), and Squid, Fish, and Lemur all had a chance to show off their mad Guitar Hero skillz. My own skillz are considerably less mad...maybe mildly annoyed, at best. But after seeing their performances on some truly tricky songs, I'm inspired to practice a bit more.
