But I probably won't hear you

It's no secret that I'm a fan of Jonathan Coulton. Hmm...well, maybe it is kind of a secret, because I've only mentioned him once before, and that was years ago, and it's not like all of you have access to my MP3 files, do you? (You don't, right? Cuz that would be kinda creepy.) Anyway, most casual geeks can claim to be fans of Code Monkey or Still Alive or maybe Mr. Fancy Pants, but one of my favorite JoCo songs has always been "Shop Vac," in part because I get that little "indy rock" thrill by liking a song that's not one of the real popular ones. (Yes, it's a very small thrill...I take what I can get, OK?)

I have a mild affection for the "kinetic typography" type of music video. At least, I do when it's done right, and it's a lot trickier to do right than you might think. I'm not enough of a fan to go posting about it, but hey, a music video, animated with its own lyrics? Of course I like that -- word_geek, after all.

So I was excited to see this video linked by the inestimable John Scalzi, because not only is it a song I like, but it's one of the best kinetic typography videos I've ever seen. Really, have a look:

See? Excellent, isn't it? Check out some other fun stuff at the creator's site, although no other videos like that (yet, one can hope).
