I rewatched every episode this weekend while waiting for Amazon to put up "Flesh & Stone" and the duck pond *definitely* caught my attention this time around, because it's just one more weird little thing the Doctor seems to get caught on. Easily explainable as regeneration weirdness the first time through, but as the oddities around Amy stack higher and higher, it takes on some added weight.
Hadn't noticed the bit with the jacket, but I did think there was some odd editing going on there - but most of that was overridden by the "oh my god he kissed her!" Now, yes, it wasn't romantic, it was a paternal, comforting peck on the forehead, but that's more physically intimate than I've ever seen the Doctor be with anyone voluntarily.
Karen Gillan is like perfection to me, and if she weren't so damn desirable, I'd probably have been a little annoyed by the sledgehammer way with which she was throwing herself at the Doctor at the end. As it was, it was weird but hot and reminiscent of... something. Wracking my brain to think about what, and the closest I can get is Beverly and Picard under the influence of the Tsialkovsky infection on "The Naked Now".
I do think it's interesting that the Doctor seems to invite Rory along in order to distract Amy. Not exactly what I was thinking when I mentioned that I wanted a couple of companions that were involved with each other back when I first saw "Blink", but it'll do.
