Sunday, September 4th @ the Poets' Asylum
The Poets' Asylum will kick off September with the iWPS Rep Selection Slam. Eight competing poets will take part in a 4 round slam with 1, 2, 3 and 4 minute rounds. The usual rules (no props, randomly chosen judges, etc.) apply. The winner will represent Worcester in the Individual World Poetry Slam, taking place in Cleveland, OH in October. Poets from all over the world meet and compete in a multi-day performance poetry contest. Expected to compete are Sam Capogrossi, Alex Charalambides, Christopher Clauss, Nick Davis, Bobby Gibbs, Brandi MacDonald, Bill MacMillan and Sarah Sapienza.
If you've never seen a poetry slam before this event will provide a great introduction. Please join us Sunday night in the WCUW FRONTROOM (910 Main Street, Worcester). Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts around about 7:00 p.m. No cover; donations accepted to support the reading & help pay our "rent". Hope to see you there!
