"What... is that?" asked Miyagi carefully as he sat down at the dinner table.
Shinobu looked defiant.
"Casserole."

Miyagi couldn't get to a mirror if he tried - his body was far too weak at this point. But if he could have, he was pretty sure his face would be a bright, vibrant green.
Eyes closed, he listened as Shinobu fretted in the kitchen, muttering hurriedly as he turned on the sink. A few seconds later, he was practically flying towards Miyagi, tripping forward and slapping the cold towel to Miyagi's face.
"S-Sorry, Miyagi." Shinobu pushed himself up from the floor, sitting on his knees right next to the couch. The concern in his voice was tangible - along with the guilt.
"Say, Shinobu..."
He sat up straighter. "Yes? Do you need something?"
Miyagi reached up, pushing the small towel from his cheeks to his forehead. His eyes were narrowed, but his glare was weak. It was difficult to look fully annoyed when you were trying to move as little as possible so as not to accidentally vomit all over yourself.
"Are you trying to kill me?" he asked gently.
Shinobu frowned and reached for Miyagi's other hand, squeezing it between his own. "NO!"
"This is the third 'casserole' you've made..."
"It was an accident! I swear!"
"Okay, okay," said Miyagi, sighing. "I'm just saying, maybe you should try to learn something that doesn't poison me."
"It's not poison!"
"All right," said Miyagi, too weak to argue. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing, hoping to calm his stomach. A cigarette right now would be most calming, but would also probably just make the nausea worse.
Shinobu's grip lessened and he stayed silent.
Miyagi was just falling asleep when he heard a very small "Sorry."
Despite the uncomfortable twist in his stomach, Miyagi smiled faintly - the movement causing him to promptly pass out.
