Mori doesn't remember needing much in life. He works hard, studies just as hard and takes care of Honey-senpai, who depends on him sometimes. Where Honey is playful, cute and talkative, Mori is reserved and thoughtful, speaking only here and there, when the situation merits it. Sometimes, people ask him if he didn't wish he was more like Honey, projecting warmth and friendliness instead of a somewhat cold, unapproachable exterior.
He doesn't.
Moris is content to be himself. He likes being able to listen to Honey and take care of him. He enjoys the walks they go on and the way Honey leans in when he's riding on Mori's shoulders. The gentle pats on his head when he does something that Honey likes are sweet, especially when he notices that Honey has to work to stand on tiptoe just to reach the top of Mori's head - and still, Mori has to bend down a little, closing the gap between their heights.
In a way, he likes being Honey's. He likes belonging in a way no one else will. Honey is great at being a host, charming the girls at the school and eating cakes with them; and Mori is good at watching. He's good at other things as well, but these aren't as important to him.
More than anything, he likes watching. He likes the gentle touches and the occasional press of lips to his forehead - or the playfully chaste kiss on his cheek, an inch away from his lips: incentive for more girls in the host club. The soft touches and the way Honey says his name stay vibrant in his mind, silent markers of the relationship between them.
...he just wishes Honey didn't do those same things with his pink bunny rabbit. Mori has been tempted to throw it out, and almost did, once. But then Honey had found him, laced his fingers through Mori's and suggested a walk, smiling up at him. He didn't even seem to notice the bunny, just Mori.
The bunny stays with Honey almost all the time though - from morning to night, in bed and out. Mori has only been in Honey's bed a few times, after nightmares; letting Honey curl up to him so that their bodies touched, enjoying the warmth, stroking Honey's cheeks softly as he watched, making sure Honey was okay. He likes being in Honey's bed when he's needed, strong and solid, a comfortable presence for Honey.
Certainly more comfortable than a pink bunny.
Mori doesn't say anything about this, content to be around Honey...yet silently wishing for that one day when the pink bunny will disappear. When he will replace it completely.
