Unity betatest: Life SUCs.

Unity's beta test was this weekend. The economy system, the hacker and sanety system got tested, along with several other but smaller things.

Saturday morning I quickly went to pick up my new DSLR body. I'm upgrading from the 350D (which will get a good new home) to the 500D. So that ment I was up early again. I took a small nap while the battery was charging.
At one o'clock Michael and I met up at Utrecht CS and traveled to 's Hertogenbosch together. There we were picked up by Yvon who drove us to the location.
It was my first time there. The farmers scrapyard made me feel right at home as pack rattery runs strong in the famely and we used to have some similar heaps lying around when I was little.
My tent was up in seconds as its one of those fold out models. I had quite a bit of time to socialise and check out the location. New surroundings, old friends. Good combination.

The IC happenings will probably be discribed by the players, and they can do it far better then I can as they experienced it while I watched from the sidelines.
I mainly kept myself bussy with taking pictures, building things, carrying things and being the helping hand. I was planning to do the normal NPC routine, but with the emotional mess Im in, I didnt trust myself to keep everything together if things got tough.
I did feel pretty usefull, especially when building and fetching stuff. When things got more quiet in the evening I fell out of the rush. With nothing important to keep my busy my energy levels dropped really low. Feeling defenetely fragile I opted to go to bed.
I didnt sleep much, which was all caused by my current state of mind. I did lie very comfy and my body got a good rest.

Round 9 on the sunday I crawled out of my tent. I had managed to get a few hours sleep which was good. Breakfast upped my energy levels. Packing was fast and easy as I didnt have much stuff with me. The morning talk was really what I needed. The stories, the laughing... It really made me feel good.
A good stiff walk in the woods finished off the mental restoration progress. Tired but still recharged the last few hours of IC time were tackled.

After time out I helped clean up the OSCAR system. Good byes were both hard and good, as its going to be a while before I see some people again, but its also a great reminder that your riends are there for you.

All in all I had a good time. I got more tired in the sense that my sleep deprivation level keeps on building. A weekend for myself would have given me more time to rest. But I also got recharged by seeing my friends and watching all those brilliant actions and good playing.
Life SUCs was good. Things got tested, things got explained and the world keeps unfolding. I cant wait untill the first Unity is here. The creativety of the players, NPCs and orga is amazing and I already love being a part of it.
Next time Im actually going to play something, for sure :P

unity, larp
