I feel like Phoebe, in that episode with the smoke detector in the hall. Mine seems to be randomly emitting two beeps, but every time I stop and listen, or go look at it, it shuts up. This happened a few months ago with the one in my bedroom, and after changing the batteries, I eventually took them out. (I know, this is very bad, and possibly illegal, and if I die in a fire from not hearing one of my other THREE alarms, it's my own dang fault.) And here's a note to the manufacturers: there should be only one, MAYBE two, kinds of batteries. Eleventy-twelve kinds of batteries to stock up on is about forty gazillion and three two many. Amen.
