Scooooore

Popped into the Savers at Burnet & North Loop.  Passed over Corning casseroles without their lids, grabbed an older pre-microwave 9" Pyrex pie plate, passed two other fancy fluted ones that were extremely overpriced.

Grabbed some summer tops, browsed the capris and shorts and came up empty.  I'll probably have to buy new to get any I like that will fit.  *sigh*  Should have bought the three pairs of known fitting brand and model shorts I saw there last month - I have two pairs just like them that are about at the end of their useful lives and they've been discontinued.

Found a woven wool jacket in the men's sweaters for $8.

Found a cashmere sweater for $4.  I doubt it will fit me but I like the color so I may take scissors to it and make...something else of it.  Don't know yet.

Found a fine merino sweater jacket of excellent quality and construction - German or I can't read the label - for $8.

And the real find of the evening: An authentic Dale of Norway cardigan complete with pewter clasps for a whopping $6.  I can't find a photo of it on the interwebs so I guess it is probably an older model. Structurally it is a Setesdal cardigan, with snowflakes on the yoke instead of "hugs and kisses" the current models sport.  There are some details that speak of mass production, but quality mass production.  All in all an excellent find and one I'm glad to have.  The sweater is too small for me but spawn can wear it, maybe this winter.
