What is "Adult"?
It occurred to me last night that the essence of what truly makes someone an Adult is relatively simple. A person must understand and accept that you have to make, and take responsibility for, important choices concerning your life yourself. The comprehension that there is no fairy-tale Prince/Princess out there to rescue you, if you make a bad choice, is essential. It occurs to me now that one definition of good and evil is related to this. If you make choices that you know benefit you but are detrimental to the community then that is evil. Humans need other humans to survive, to put yourself before humankind is therefore wrong.
Of course, by the definition of "Adult", above, there are an awfully large number of Children in the world and all too few Adults....
