I had a friend who would do that... sit there are all crouched up in the stall and put on her make-up.
I was the only person in the bathroom multiple times this weekend and darned if someone didn't sit right down next to me. A couple of them started to talk to me and I was all I don't know you go away I'm busy in here!!!
Another woman was conducting business in the stall next to me yesterday and I wondered if the person on the other end knew what she was really doing while on the phone.
YAYES! Especially where you're at now. I just don't get it... why would you sit right next to the person that's already in there when they're sitting in the middle of the room? Then, to start chatting to them? I don't care that you think the floor is beautifully tiled. I'm sure as shit not going to tell you whether I've tiled or not. And THEN to sniff and huff and say about how rude I am when I don't respond? GAAAAAHHHHHHH. (yes, this was at Lowe's...could you tell from the subject matter?)
My criteria for stll choosing weren't on there - so at the risk of being diagnosed OCD, I choose: -The first stall -If that stall is not clean, I choose the next until I find a clean one.
Studies of public restroom use suggest that the stall used least often is the first stall. But I mostly choose on cleanliness, usually whether the seat is clean.
I use the middle stall. All the time. I hate using the stalls by the walls. And I don't care who's in there using what stall as long as they're not using the middle one. I think it should be an option!

And I don't put my makeup on in the stall! Knowing me, I'd drop my lipstick down the toilet or something.
