(no subject)
Happy 2009, everyone!
I did complete my resolution from last year though I've sort of failed to post reviews. Sort of. I did something like 70 books and 35 movies but still - that's 100 new books and movies, right? Right. I'd post the reviews tonight but they're written on my external harddrive or my thumbdrive and they're both at my desk at work.
Which I won't be visiting because I have a 3.5 day weekend that started at 12:30 yesterday afternoon and will continue to at least Sunday. However, I might go in to work on Saturday and Sunday so as to take less vacation time when a certain someone comes down to visit me because OMG LIKE ONE WEEK AND I WILL HAVE A VISITOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hd_worldcup opened up applications. We've made lots of changes this year and I think they're all for the better. There were definitely things we needed to address to make the games better for participants (watchers, writers, artists, etc). I like to think that those changes are all good things. We've made the teams smaller, made one less team and redid some of the confusing bits with team delineations. We've also done away with anonymity and added some very interesting bits with team interactions including extensions and a new position. I, for one, am pretty stoked for it. So we'll see if we get enough applications to host another round.
I dl'd a few new apps for my iPhone and omg, so cool. I dl'd last.fm for my phone so I can stream internet radio at my desk. So much awesome there as I've already discovered another two artists that I think I shall become addicted to - The City on Film and Alexi Murdoch. (Did I ever tell anyone I was on last.fm? here if you're interested) Oh man. I'm so enjoying that feature. I also dl'd "duck duck". Anyone else have this? It's addicting to try to get all the ducks in the little pools.
I never posted my flailing about my yuletide fic that I received. For that, I am made of suck and fail. I received The Rules (According to Bryce Dignam) and omg. Just about the most awesome fic ever. It's spot on canon characterizations with an awesome awesome awesome Dignam and Costigan. Srsly - it's the best thing ever. Go read it and heap love on the author, plz.
I wrote A Tale of Seregil and Alec in the Nightrunner series by Lynn Flewelling. I'll repost here in a while.
My Christmas was all right. Did not get any crazy cow crap so that's a win right there. I got a bunch of cool things. My brother shafted me but, alas, that's normal. My nephews were very well behaved. I taught the younger one to sing Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in Spanish, French and English. It was rather cool to see him singing it.
We had second Christmas on Sunday when I had the day sort of off. It was much nicer to just hang out with my mum, sister and dad. Much less stressful. I found out yesterday that, even though I followed up four times, the secretary did not mail my cards as I asked her to do. So they should go out tomorrow but I will follow up with her on Monday when I return to make sure it happens.
Just realized that i hadn't posted a bunch of stuff that I'd written for other things. Major fail. Also - got my assignment at picfor1000 and omg. IDK that I hate it or love it. See? It's interesting and I have ideas.
I also got my assignment at hp_springsmut and it's PERFECT. SO MUCH STUFF going on for that one.
