Did the AIDSWalk this morning. 5k and I was sort of sad to be done, I really could've kept going much much farther. My sister has a few back issues and she did really well on the walk, as well. Her back didn't act up until well after the halfway point.
I brought my dog, Cisco, along for the walk. I didn't have high hopes for the beginning because, let's face it, he's a small black dog that people kept stepping on. They were fairly rude and inconsiderate. You step on something, you apologise, I don't care if it's a human foot or a dog's tail.
But, once the thousands and thousands of people thinned out, it was much more fun because Cisco just trotted along. He was filmed by every cameraguy out there. He's cute, he's smiley and he was wearing an AIDSWalk bandanna around him.
He also pooped right in front of the "face" of the event. Oh yeah, my dog has perfect timing. I had to elbow the guy to get him to not step in it. Thanks, Cisco. It doesn't help that this guy modeled with Cisco at the fashion show that work puts on, so he totally knew Cisco and me. Le sigh.
There were some really beautiful sections of the quilt that I took some photos of. There was also a very sweet gay couple in front of me walking in honor of a friend they lost to AIDS. There were loads of dogs, too. Every one of them were well behaved except for mine who pooped twice and peed on everything.
Anyway - just in case you wanted to donate to the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation -
