Never, in a million years, would Parvati have ever guessed that Demelza Robins would go as far as she had with Colin. She'd specifically picked Demelza because she seemed like such a nice, virtuous girl. That impression was belied by the bright red and swollen lips, lips that obviously had been kissed more than once.
So, it was that Parvati found herself skulking along behind Colin and Demelza as they made their way to the Third Floor and the unused broom closet off the hallway that led to a group of rooms the students were not allowed to access. She saw them go into the closet and she waited. And waited. And waited more.
Finally, she couldn't take it any longer and opened the door. Her heart dropped to her feet as she saw Colin and Demelza snogging, his hands around her back, holding her close. She flushed bright red, matching the splotchy skin of Colin, before she stammered an apology for the intrusion.
She didn't understand why she was tempted to cry as she hurried back to Gryffindor. That didn't stop the burn of tears behind her eyes or the crushed feeling in her chest.
It certainly didn't stop her from feeling betrayed.
