Pools And Bars And Memories And Free Booze
Tuesday after work, i stopped by Mac's Liquor Store where i've had a "frequent drinker" card for the past few years. They checked their rewards program for me and i was eligible for TWO free gift cards ($10 for every $200 you spend). At first it sounds like a lot, but you figure a $12 bottle of wine a week for two-and-a-half years and it's not that bad. (Of course, i'd already gotten one gift card last year). So brandy and diet coke it was! Makes the week slide by easier.
i was supposed to say goodbye to a "friend" that night, but he'd mentioned earlier in the afternoon that he was going to be a little late. About 9:30 he said that he wasn't making it and hoped i'd made other plans. "uh, no, you said you'd keep me posted." Typical. You get that a lot up here. But i got to go swimming in my favorite pool and then say goodbye to Rachel, my favorite bartender. i usually don't like hanging out in hotel bars because they are so depressing, but this one is really fun. When i first met Rachel a couple years ago, she was really in a rough state. But she has cleaned up her act and things are really going well. i'm happy for her.
