A Good Saturday For A Change

Matt needed fruit and other pie-making stuff, so we went to Costco. i haven't been able to find my waterproof Lumix ever since i came home at the end of the month for my surgery. i remember charging it the Sunday after spending the day with it at ValleyFair and figured i'd left it in the bathroom at the Hotel Minneapolis charging - i can picture the battery and charger plugged in by the mirror and the camera sitting on the tissue dispenser next to it so they wouldn't get separated since i'm such a space cadet. But they swore they didn't have it and i did find the charger in my backpack. Just not the camera. So i figured i'd lost it along the way. They weren't selling Lumix's (at least not the model i was looking for) so i thought about this Fuji. i went ahead and got it since i could bring it back if i found something better at BestBuy. And blue was a nice color.

ah...so nice to have our traditional lunch again. Matt thinks i'm enjoying it just a bit too much. i really do like those polish sausages, too. And only $3.22 for the both of us (up a nickel since the beginning of the summer).

We also stopped at Shop 'n' Save for a few things and they had these carts full of discounted booze - yeah, it's kinda ghetto. But they had the yummy green apple and punch Ursus vodka - you'll remember they sponsored that ice sculpture at HBN last year - on closeout for only $3.99 a bottle. Well, it's not like it goes bad, so i grabbed them all.

On Friday, Owen/murphy posted on FB how he'd pitted and pureed a pound of cherries and mixed it with vodka and let it set overnight in the fridge. It sounded so good, i did the same.

i can't wait to see how it tastes!

So last night, before popping open the packaging on the Fuji i'd gotten at Costco, i decided to make one last check of my backpack. And sure enough, waaaaaaay down in the bottom, there was my Lumix. i swear i went thru this thing 5 times. i'm such a ditz. This one qualifies as a "double-woofer-with-a-half-twist". Now i have to decide if i want to keep the Fuji anyway.
