A bunch of our friends went to the zoo yesterday. For us, it was old folks' doctor day. We started off at Steve, the chiropractor. Matt has had a couple of rough sleepy nights and needed to get back into position. A little time on the roller bed and a few tweaks was all he needed. Then it was on down the road for my one-week follow-up with the surgeon. He didn't have much to say other than i'm healing fine, everything was on track and yes, i'll still be sore for the next week. He said that i should probably see a little relief come this weekend, but just gotta ride it out. Oh, and he clarified that he only rents the helicopter. He owns the airplane. LOL.
In the middle of the day, we finally got a little rain, but it was more of a half-hearted sprinkle. Quite disappointing. i was really looking forward to dancing in the rain. It would have been the highlight of my week.
Later we saw a new sleep doctor. i continue to be concerned about Matt's restless nights, even with the damn CPAP. i kinda like this one and i like her ideas. It was funny describing Matt's repetoire of rhythmic night moves ("the bicycle", "the shiver", "the penguin flap"), but she knew exactly what i was talking about. i'm really excited and guardedly hopeful. Plus, she wanted to check his iron. Man, if it was just that simple. "See, old man? You just need Geritol!" For you kids,
Geritol was infamous as an elixir for old people and the taunt "you need Geritol!" was the same as saying "ah, you're just getting old!" He didn't know that Geritol was simply an iron supplement!
After we got home, our friends dropped by to visit in our little backyard. We shared our Northstar Mini Ice Cream Sandwiches with them. It was unanimous...cheapy sandwiches are better than Klondike bars.
