Got a call on Saturday morning from the dealer that the check from my credit union had shown up. We thought it was going to come here to the house, but as long as it got to the right place, that's all that matters. We actually came out OK. i never liked the passenger seat in the old van and it was the old style. We'd paid $9700 for it, but since Matt was so nice to the claims adjuster, we got $13,500 for it (AFTER the deductable!). That made up for the couple grand i'd put into it for the A/C and stuff. This one is a 2010 with 28k. The dealer cut an extra $500 off for me being in the military and slashed the hell out of the price for the extended warranty, so we're covered for 90k. It's comfy, all the electricals are covered (the door closers on the old one were acting up) and has only the equipment we need and not stuff we'd never use (like the backseat video system). We are definitely happy homotorists.
After we dropped off the rental in Illinois, we stopped in to see the ever-cuddly Chad at the Hard Rock. Santa Fe Springrolls and the Haystack Salad, as always. His friend Emily was working too, but she is soon to be heading to OKC to start her doctoral studies.
