Flowers and Brass
The annual orchid show at the Missouri Botanical Garden had a Mayan theme to match the special exhibit of Mayan art at the Art Museum. my pics sucked compared to Matt's and others, but no matter. It always amazes me that there are so many different kinds of orchids.
We stopped at Uncle Bill's Pancake House for breakfast. This photo shows why we live here in this part of town. Gays and straights, blacks and whites and mexicans and bosnians. No matter where you're from, we all love pancakes. That evening we went to "Pi" for snooty, designer pizza. i think i would have preferred Pizzeria UNO instead, but they closed down.
We finally got to see "Band Together", Saint Louis' gay/lesbian concert band. As a one-time band nerd, it was great to see this kind of music again. The bear is that their shows are usually on the second Saturday of the month...same night as our bear meetings. Maybe i need to alternate. Next weekend: Gateway Men's Chorus" doing "Piano Men", featuring the music of Elton and Billy Joel and other piano players. Good times!
