Forgive me if this is stupid question, but just how do you take some of those shots where you're not holding the camera (e.g., the b&w photos in this post)?
woof Mike! Actually, it's rather easy. You undoubtedly saw my little camera and the gorillapod, my articulating tripod. i set the self-timer, set the camera on something (a trashcan for the first two of those pointing in either direction, a line divider for the third) and get into position. You can do a lot in 10 seconds. i desaturated the color in the computer. Easy!! It's gotten to where i have a good enough idea of where the camera is pointing and what will be in the frame that i don't even look half the time anymore.
So it is staged! I thought such pictures had to be, but then I figured there was some other fancy camera work going on. Thanks for describing what you're doing. Woofs
Well, of course, silly!! i take all my own pictures and i'm the only one i have to pose in them. i'd love to have a little photog in my pocket, but in the meantime, i gotta make it up as i go along.
