"Live" on the Levee

Last night, Matt and i went with Mike and Glen (codeboi & buzzedoff) to the "Live on the Levee" celebration down on the riverfront on the step below the Arch. It had been going on for the past six weekends, but we missed most of them because we figured it would either be hot or crowded or both. i wouldn't have minded seeing Cheap Trick or Grand Funk, either. Glen (who just had a birthday) won VIP passes to the show this particular evening which meant free parking in one of the garages and reserved seating on the step below the arch in a really good spot. The group playing tonight was "Live" who, i'll admit, i hadn't kept track of since their "Throwing Copper" album back in the late '90s. But they put on a great show and the singer kept taking his shirt off which pleased the guys (too thin for this pup's tastes) and the cool breeze off the water made it pleasant indeed. Could have used a pad for the hard concrete steps we were sitting on, but it was only an hour show, so we were fine. Afterwards, there was a great fireworks display shot off a barge in the middle of the river. A great evening with good friends indeed.

...and we didn't even go out to the bar, either!
