We celebrated Record Store Day at Vintage Vinyl, the best indie record store in town. We weren't there too long after it opened, but apparently there was a line around the block to snatch up some of the limited edition records that were released just for today.
i didn't get the Springsteen, Hole or Beastie Boys that i wanted, but still found plenty to spend my money on. Here was what i scored:Passion Pit - "Little Secrets" (including Felix da Housecat remix - red vinyl)
Rolling Stones - "Plundered My Soul" (from the Exile on Main Street session)
Owl City - "Fireflies"
Neil Young - "Heart of Gold"/"Sugar Mountain"
Soundgarden - "Hunted Down"/"Nothing To Say"
New Order - "Temptation"
Peter Gabriel/Bon Iver - "Come Talk To Me"/"Flume"
Grizzly Bear - Live on KCRW
Charlotte Gainesberg/Beck - Sunset Sound Session
The Decemberists - "The Rake's Song"
Julian Casablancas - "11th Dimension" (Live at Electric Lady Studios)
The Pretenders - "Break Up The Concrete" (red vinyl)
Fucked Up - Lunchbox-The Daytrotter Sessions
The Constellations - "Setback"/"Love Is A Murder" feat. Cee-Lo
Phoenix - "Fences" (12" pink vinyl)
Muse - "Exogenesis:Symphony (Parts 1-3)"
Morrissey - Revelation (unreleased tracks from the Viva Hate, Kill Uncle and Your Arsenal sessions)
Flaming Lips, Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches - Doing The Dark Side Of The Moon (yes, Pink Floyd's classic album...this should be insane)
When i got home, i recorded a few to a more "portable" format. Still, it's fun to play with.
