Down In The Park

We went to Lowes yesterday morning. Matt had noticed this week that they had their xmas lights and stuff out and i'd been wanting to get a set of LEDs that had frosted covers (the clear colors just look so cold...not very xmasy). Still a bit on the pricey side, but i got 'em anyway. Oh well. They had a 3D flying pig with animated wings. It was some weird gauzy fabric stretched over a wire frame and i thought about it. Matt came up with the idea of writing the word "PEACE" on it meaning we'll have peace "when pigs fly" which i had to agree with. But we finally found a place to plug it in by the Halloween stuff and the wings barely moved at all so we gave it a pass.

In the afternoon, we went to the park for the annual Bears Picnic. They had volunteer sign-ups to work, but apparently Robert already has my duties lined out (and no, not that, though i'm sure there will be enough of that as well). We had elections and a successor for my job was suckered into elected and so i really don't have much left to do other than help out whereever. It's just hard for me to do the organization while i'm on the road, i'll still help out.

After eating too much, we came back to the house and took a little nap. i could have snuggled forever, but i needed to be able to sleep that night and you know how bad it is for me to sleep on Sunday nights. *sigh* We got up and tried to install the new video card in the computer. It had a single supplementary power requirement and we were looking all over find a place to plug it in. In the course of doing that, we managed to unseat the fucking processor and couldn't get it back in. We didn't want to fuck with it too much since we'd probably just bend some of those delicate pins (if we haven't already). i guess Matt can take it to the Geek Squad this week. *sigh*

bears, computer repairs, xmas lights
