Yesterday started off OK. It was "snaining" (a combination of snow & rain for those of you in warmer climes) and i was feeling silly so i acted silly for the benefit of you and the woofy driver of the truck to the right of me.
Italians...WOOF! Work started out OK. i only had one meeting - it was a Tuesday, afterall, and we all know what Tuesdays are... - and of course, Matt called in the middle of it. That just gave me an incentive to herd these cats and move them along to a swift conclusion so i could call him back. The day moved along from there and i was less than motivated until just after lunch when one of my batch jobs went down. Now, this job has failed before and i knew exactly what to do. But i couldn't get ahold of the support people to get done what had to be done. So instead of wrapping it up in less than an hour, i was stuck there until 9pm. The roads were icy and both Matt and Robert had admonished me to be careful on the way home a point driven home by a last minute text from Randy/
redhochipe saying that while they had reached Chicago 9 hours after leaving that morning, they had wrecked his Honda Pilot - fortunately both he and Jim are OK. A couple of work calls when i finally got home, then a sandwich and a bowl of Moose Tracks, a little Rachel Maddow and then off to snuggleland with Matthew. No matter how crappy the day can be, it always ends well. i'm a lucky woofer indeed.
